CES: Saygus VPhone
Randall Bennett chats with Tim Ryker from Saygus about their Android powered VPhone. Features include Bluetooth, a 5MP autofocus camera with flash plus a front facing camera for video calls. Pricing hasn't yet been announced and the phone will be launched later this quarter.

Sony Ericsson anounces Snapdragon-packing XPERIA X10
Sony Ericsson has finally revealed the details of its upcoming Android handset, the XPERIA X10, which will be released in early 2010. The device features a Snapdragon processor, 8.1 megapixel camera with a flash, and a custom interface. The customized GUI aggregates all of you social media updates into one feed and also sorts all of the videos and audio on your phone into one nice menu system. The most interesting feature added to this device is facial recognition on the camera for automatic photo tagging.
First Snapdragon-based Android phone will be released in France [UPDATE]
Acer has unveiled one of its first handsets to the market, the Liquid, which features a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, a 800x480 capacitive touchscreen, and a 5MP camera. The device will be launching in France in December with some unique features built into the OS such as geotagging for the camera, custom power management for longer battery life, and the Spinlets application made for streaming music and videos.
Update: News from the Acer presentation on the device has revealed the processor will only be clocked at 768MHz
Samsung Moment launches today on Sprint
A new Android device has found its way onto the market via Sprint for $180. One key feature which makes this phone stand out is its 3.2 inch AMOLED display and 800Mhz processor which gives it a nice high resolution display and a faster processor than we've seen in previous devices. Many of the other specs are standard Android specs as of now: microSD expandable, 3.2 megapixel auto-focus camera, and WiFi.
RIM working on new browser for BlackBerry
A job posting on RIM's site looking for a WebKit developer may mean RIM is ramping up or overhauling its BlackBerry Browser. The BlackBerry OS is definitely due for a major update at this point and this may be RIM's way of moving its BlackBerry line into the quickly moving modern market.
Droid Eris to drop November 3rd
A newly leaked document pins the release date for Verizon's Droid Eris at November 3rd for $99 after rebate. The device at launch will be the cheapest Android device on the market thus far with the T-Mobile G1 coming in at $129 with a contract. The Eris is also rumored to be coming with a bundled 8Gb MicroSD but will not be running the newest version of the Android OS, Eclair (version 2.0), but will instead be running 1.5.
China’s ITG puts Windows XP in your pocket
Some new shots of the xpPhone have been revealed along withe a few specs. The phone has a custom call/phone interface which sits atop a full version of Windows XP. It will come shipped with SSDs from 8 to 64GB or HDD from 30 to 120GB and can be ordered for CDMA and GSM networks. No word on pricing yet, there is a "pre-order" page up, but who could put a price on troubleshooting bugs on a Windows XP phone all day?
BlackBerry Storm 2 unveiled
Research in Motion has unveiled the BlackBerry Storm 2, the successor to its first touchscreen device. It sports an improved SurePress touchscreen and 2GB of memory (expandable to 16GB with a microSD card) and is WiFi-capable. The Storm 2 is free with a two-year Vodafone UK contract, while Verizon Wireless has yet to announce pricing and availability for the US market.
Update: Verizon has announced the device will be available Wednesday for $179 with a 2 year contract and a $100 mail-in rebate.
