GQ to publish digital version on App Store

Condé Nast will publish a digital version of GQ magazine on the iTunes App Store for $2.99 an issue, starting in December, in an attempt to stay profitable in light of dwindling ad revenue. Sarah Chubb, President of Condé Nast Digital, also dropped a hint that an Apple tablet could be in the works. “We think that the minute Apple is ready, if they ever are, to announce that they’re going forward with a tablet, that we’ll be ahead of everybody."

New Apple keyboard mouse points to iMac refresh

Apple has submitted a new bluetooth keyboard and mouse to the FCC according to Engadget. Rumors have been circulating Apple will release brand new iMac computers during October, in time for the holiday season, and with the keyboard showing up in the FCC, and Apple's quick response to remove images from the database, we think it's all but a lock.

As for the actual filing, the rumors say to expect some type of multitouch gesture controls, ala the MacBook Pro trackpad and iPhone touchscreen, and the mouse may also be aluminium, like the body of the iMac.

Chrome OS coming much sooner than expected?

Chinese netbook manufacturer Lemote is reportedly preparing to launch a Chrome OS powered PC by the end of November, even while Google still claims that its desktop operating system won't be available until late 2010. Currently, Lemote makes low cost netbooks running a custom Linux distro with a unique name: Loonux. We're skeptical, to say the least.

Zune HD launching with app store?

When the Zune HD launches on September 15th, it may do so with an application store of its own. A video demonstration of the new device clearly shows an Apps listing under Marketplace, and a Best Buy representative answered affirmatively when questioned if there will be an SDK. So far, Microsoft has been mum about the availability of such apps, however, it's hard to imagine the Zune series competing well with the iPod touch given Apple's huge App Store library, unless it has a similar offering.

Possible camera-clad iPod touch caught on video

Engadget's received very believable photos and hands-on video of hardware that could very well solidify rumors that the next generation of iPod touches will come with cameras.

Barron’s analyst says he has seen the iTablet

An unnamed analyst from Barron's claims that he has actually seen the rumored tablet computer from Apple. While he released very few details, he did say that the device will be announced next month and should ship in November. Also, he expects the price range to be around $700 to $800.

Flood of iPod cases with camera slots lead to a logical next step in Apple’s media player

A slew of iPod cases in China have been pictured, showing off possible camera features and dimensions of the next generation in the devices. Cult of Mac has a ton of photos of the alleged cases showing them in a variety of styles and colors but one thing is for sure: Each case has the holes in the same place on the back. This gives some solid leverage to the photos and the fact that most cases, and even iPhone hardware, are made directly in China makes the slide from "rumor" to "news" even faster.
