Apple pushing for cheaper TV shows on iTunes: TechVi Now Morning Edition
If Apple gets its way, TV shows could drop in price to only $0.99, but there's resistance from the networks on this proposed change. In the continuing saga of Google and China, the two are trying to work out some kind of truce. Google may have another deal set up in the U.S. with Walmart to start stocking the Nexus One. All that and more on TechVi Now.
Awards season, mini phones and Pirate Bay drama
This week, our ol' chaps from over the pond (that is what they're called, right?) check in to speak of the unspeakable drama going on at The Pirate Bay. Not unspeakable because it's dramatic, scary or obscene, but it's just unspeakable because... well... explaining the situation gives us a bit of a headache. We'll let Duncan expound on how pirate visitors to The Pirate Bay actually might have a better shot at getting away with it.
Also, Dan chimes in on a notable trend, specifically the trend toward creating a "mini phone." In essence, the netbook / laptop relationship has extended to the mobile space, where less expensive smartphone handsets are starting to roll out in tandem with their bigger brethren. Phones like the Pixi and the Palm Pre, among others. What's with the fad, and is it worth buying into?
Lastly, it's award season over at Pocket-Lint, and besides the requisite champagne dreams after winning a Pocket-Lint-ie (that's not what they're called), the guys explain some of their favs including a piece of software getting some U.K. buzz that soon could be coming stateside.
Also, give us feedback if you've got it. pocketlintshow@techvi.com. We'd love to hear what you think of the show.

Pre to get expandable memory in Mexico?
A few videos have trickled out of Mexico which allegedly show a Palm Pre with a MicroSD slot. This would be the first WebOS device with expandable memory so far. The Pre will be released by Telcel in Mexico.
Adobe to add Flash to multiple phones, except iPhone
Adobe says its planning to add Flash support to a number of phones, including Android devices and the Palm Pre, but that it won't be adding it for the iPhone. What does this mean for phone buyers and users? We ask Wendy Sheehan Donnell from PC Mag.com, and analyst Rob Enderle from Enderle Group.
Wendy reminds us that most people only use Flash for video, and since the iPhone has a native YouTube app, the bigger loss is for Adobe than iPhone users. Rob's take is similar, though he sees it more as Apple slighting Adobe for its application development environment AIR than the actual web-based flavor of Flash.
What's your take? Do you use Flash? Would you miss it on your phone? Sound off in the comments.

Palm Pixi rumored to launch this month, how much should it cost?
We've been hearing about the Palm Pixi for what seems like ages in gadget years, but the follow up to the Pre is rumored, albeit sketchily, to be hitting Sprint later this month. The device is a less expensive, slider-less version of the Pre, though it has a slower processor and less memory. Right now the Pre is $79 in some places, so what's it going to take for Palm to make the Pixi a hit? We ask PC Mag Editor-in-chief Lance Ulanoff, and Engadget's Nilay Patel.
Palm Pre not coming to Verizon Wireless
UPDATE: A Palm spokesperson reiterated that the Pre will be coming to Verizon in 2010.
Sources tell TheStreet.com that the Palm Pre will not be joining Verizon Wireless because of lack-luster sales. The source also mentioned that Verizon may order a small amount of Palm Pres and not market the phone.
iTunes 9 carries on Apple’s syncing battle against Palm
In the latest episode of an ongoing saga between Apple and Palm, the newly released iTunes 9 once again breaks the Pre's syncing capability.
Palm drops Pre price to $149, scheduled to update WebOS
In addition to announcing the Pixi, which we're excited about, Palm has also dropped the Pre's price by $50, meaning it'll cost $249 in-store with a $100 mail-in rebate.
We're also hearing through less official channels, that Palm will be updating WebOS to version 1.2, adding some new features and bug fixes, including copy/paste from the browser. The update was scheduled for yesterday, but we haven't heard confirmation from anyone that it actually shipped.
Smartphones are on the rise, but dumbphones dominate
We've seen some great choices for cell phones this year... on virtually all carriers. And whether you're into the Palm Pre, the iPhone 3GS, or any flavor BlackBerry, the era of smartphones that actually do what users want is finally upon us... but in our case "us" is a relatively small minority. 72% of phones sold are still dumb featurephones, according to NPD, and while that's not a huge shocker... what's preventing everyone from getting a truly smart phone? We ask Harry McCracken from Technologizer, and Jeremy Kaplan from PC Mag.
