We sit down with our buddies from HotHardware, like we do every week, to talk graphic cards this time around. First on the list? ATI's gigantic Radeon 5970, which other than topping performance charts, also tips the price scales more than most cards. On the cheap end of the spectrum, we break down a new card from Zotac which is a low-power unit capable of fitting in well to a home theater without breaking the bank. Also, Adobe has added hardware acceleration support in its latest build of Flash, which is perfect for lower-end computers to play back hi-def Flash content. And, MSI has come out with a desktop that fits that mold really well, which has a touchscreen, Nvidia ION processor, and comes in at about $750. Check the show for the full details.

Zune HD: App store importance?

It's a bit of a slow news day, so we thought we'd talk about our favorite topic of the moment: The Zune HD. When it's released on September 15th, with its beefy Tegra internals, we're expecting the device to be pretty impressive from a pure user experience perspective. On the other side of the coin, we're not really sure what to expect from the Zune's 3rd party application support. It's true, the device could have a great amount of secret developer support, but up to now there hasn't been much explanation about exactly how 3rd party apps will play on the device. How crucial are they to the platform's success? We ask Seth Porges from Popular Mechanics, and Marco Chiappetta from HotHardware their perspectives.

iPhone 3GS launch day: Journos weigh in

We round out our day of coverage on the iPhone 3GS with two more journos' take on the device. First, Christina Warren from TUAW.com tells us that the reduced crowds might have actually played in Apple's favor, since they haven't seen as many emails and comments about activation issues. Marco Chiappetta from HotHardware headed down to his local store, and saw much of the same subdued environment echoed across the country. Christina is poised to pick up the phone once her upgrade pricing kicks in, but Marco still can't live without that physical keyboard.
