Yahoo launches “Deals” website

Yahoo has just launched a new site that allows users to catch numerous types of deals and bargains. The site, simply called "Yahoo Deals," will host a variety of bargains for the day, coupons for chain and local grocery stores, and additional coupons due to a partnership with Val-Pak. Users can also follow the service on Twitter, allowing users to find top deals in real time.

Verizon drops smartphones to $99

Industry watchers take note: Verizon has dropped all of its smartphone portfolio to $99 with a two-year contract. The bargains likely signify a move by Verizon to clear inventory ahead of more significant product launches, like the upcoming BlackBerry Storm 2.
