We want to welcome the newest show to our lil' site, HotHardware on TechVi. We'll talk weekly with the folks at PC enthusiast site HotHardware to break down the week's biggest headlines from a chip-head perspective. From PC gaming rigs, to anything that'll make your computer faster, we'll break down the week's headlines with them and try to break down how your computer can get faster.

This week, we talk Apple's announcements, ATI's new cheaper video cards, Windows 7 enhancements, plus a 256GB solid-state drive with built-in raid controller.

OCZ announces 1TB drive for $2,200

OCZ, a solid-state drive manufacturing main-stay, has announced its first 1TB SSD, named the Colossus, will ring up at a wallet-gouging $2,200 pricetag when it ships in about three weeks. OCZ pegs the performance of the high-capacity drive at 250/MB per second reads with 220/MB per second writes. Smaller but similarly equipped capacities will also ship, ranging from 128 GB to 512GB, and cost $300 to $1200.
