Facebook backlash: Justified?
Facebook changed their privacy settings yesterday so user's profile picture, groups, gender and birth date are now open to anyone to see them, including search engines such as Google and Bing. That's given some users pause for concern, stating its a self centered move to get more hits from people using search engines. Is the backlash really justified? Man exonerated by Facebook status update
Rodney Bradford's "Wherers my IHOP?" status update written on October 17 at 11:49 AM managed to prove an alibi, and exonerate him from an alleged robbery.
Internet users spend 68 hours online every month, survey finds
A recent Nielsen survey reveals that the average Internet user spends 68 hours a month, or around 2.5 hours a day, online. The same survey shows that Google is the top web brand for the month of September, followed by Yahoo!, MSN and Facebook.
Cast announced for Facebook movie
Variety reports the cast for the upcoming movie based on the book, Accidental Billionaires, has been formed. Among the cast: Justin Timberlake will play Sean Parker, the co-founder of Napster and the person that introduced Mark Zuckerberg to venture capitalists.
Facebook unveils a lighter version
The rumored lighter version of Facebook is now available for preview in the United States and India. The primary purpose of Facebook lite, according to Inside Facebook, is to scale back on bandwidth for users with slower internet connections and to introduce facebook to new users.
