Another company hopping on the features-over-megapixels bandwagon is Canon. Now, the company is taking a back to the future approach with its latest set of shooters... which begs the question are we actually better off now? Is now the time to pick up one of these cams because they're actually better in quality than their predecessor, or should you save a few bucks and go with an older model? We talk with Natali Del Conte from CNET, and Matt Burns from CrunchGear about the topic.

Rare Canon 1200/5.6L USM Listed for $120,000

B&H, an online source of professional camera gear, just listed a used Canon 1200/5.6L USM for $120,000. There is said to be "more than twelve, less than twenty" of the rare lens with a delivery time of 18 months for new orders. The lens is about 33-inches long, weighs in at 36 pounds and is said to provide quality images of subject matter from over 2-miles away. Current owners of this lens include National Geographic magazine, Sports Illustrated and Canon Professional Services.

Canon announces (relatively) affordable DSLR that doubles as video recorder

As far as DSLRs go, Canon's new 500D isn't too shabby. The camera sports 15.1 megapixels, a live-view LCD, HDMI out, and can record 720p video at 30FPS, or 1080p video at 20FPS. All that for $900 including lens, or $800 for body only. DigitalCameraInfo got a hands on with it too.
