HP presents potpourri of portable PCs
The HP Envy line of notebooks includes two models, the Envy 13 and the Envy 15, that feature a magnesium and aluminum construction, and the ability to switch between a power-sipping graphics processor and a more powerful one. The Envy 13 will feature a super-bright display and a wider color gamut designed to produce rich, warm graphics, while the 15 shows off a larger 15.6-inch screen. Available in mid-October for $1699 and $1799, respectively.
HP also announced a pair of $399 netbooks, one focusing on form, the other on function. The "pretty one," a modified Mini 110, has been designed by Studio Tord Boontje and uses a new technology to create a unique raised design on the outside shell. On the serious side, the Nvidia Ion-powered Mini 311 has an 11.6-inch high resolution display and will output 1080p on via its HDMI port.
