Sony Walkman S and E series hit in September

Sony says two lines of Walkman players will ship next month. The S series, which features a 2.4-inch display and offers 42 hours of headphone-style battery life for music playback, and 6.5 hours of video playback, and E series Walkman, which is a bargain basement model with slightly lower battery ratings and a lower price, will have some stiff competition most notably in the Zune HD and iPod, both of which are also scheduled to ship in September.

Sony's two models, however, look to skimp on price, with the S series coming in at $110 for 8gb and $130 for 16GB, and the E series at $80 and $110 for the same capacities, well below the expected pricing for the Zune HD and iPod.
