Kindle 2 price drops to $299

Yesterday Amazon dropped the price of its Kindle 2 e-book reader by $60 bringing it to $299. This comes almost five months into the Kindle 2's life after launching in February. This move is not entirely unexpected as the original Kindle dropped in price after about six months. This move may also help to differentiate between the Kindle 2 and the Kindle DX as well as help to stave of the competition.
