iPhone SMS security hole will be patched later this month

A security hole on the iPhone SMS application that would "allow an attacker to remotely install and run unsigned software code with root access to the phone" was disclosed at SyScan conference in Singapore. Apple is aware of the situation and will release a fix later this month, according to IDG News Service.
