Pandora adding pay-to-play system to cover royalties

Pandora Radio, one of the most popular music streaming websites around, just released information on a new pay-to play addition to its service, which was once ad-supported. Now, users who listen to the radio station for over 40 hours in a month are cut off, unless they throw a paltry $0.99 cents into Pandora's "tip jar." Afterward, users can continue to listen to their radio stations, though it isn't clear if advertisements will remain. The update comes years after nearly-forgotten news from 2007, when Congress went into a heated series of negotiations with the music industry regarding online radio royalties.
